Dr. Shazia Naser ud Din of the University of Melbourne Visits the University of Osaka for Special Graduate Seminar
On June 5, 2026, Dr. Shazia Naser ud Din from the University of Melbourne, Australia, visited our university and served as a special guest lecturer at a Special Graduate Seminar.

This special seminar was held as the “Academic Exchange Mini Symposium,” a joint initiative between the Graduate School of Dentistry, the University of Osaka and the Melbourne Dental School, the University of Melbourne.
During the seminar, Dr. Naser ud Din delivered a lecture titled “Bruxism in 2026 – Are we addressing patient concerns?”, in which she shared her research findings and discussed various clinical case studies.
From our university, Professor Takashi YAMASHIRO gave a presentation titled “Prevention and Management of TMJ Disorders in Orthodontic Treatment,” and Professor Takafumi KATO presented on “Sleep bruxism: Understanding the pathophysiology and risk factors.”
Dr. Naser ud Din listened intently to the presentations by our faculty members, creating a valuable opportunity for both sides to gain new insights into each other’s research. For the participating graduate students, it was a highly meaningful occasion to learn about the latest developments and expertise in the field of dentistry in Australia.
Following the seminar, Dr. Naser ud Din also paid a courtesy visit to Dean Kazuhiko NAKANO.
