■Development of new periodontal regenerative medicine
We have been investigating the efficacy and the safety of FGF2 (basic fibroblast growth factor) in periodontal treatment. REGROTH®, a treatment that utilizes fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF-2), has been studied for many years in our hand and was finally approved for production on September 28, 2016 by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan. This product is the world’s first and only pharmaceutical that includes growth factors developed for the purpose of periodontal regeneration. We have also been investigating the utility of autologous adipose tissue-derived multi-lineage progenitor cells transplantation therapy at the Cell Processing Center in the Center for Translational Dental Research.
